Weather have been beautiful for this time of the year so far. Right now is 42*F. Estimated 1 Million revelers are enjoying the festivities in Times Square and 6 000 cops are keeping them safe.

I missed watching Santa's journey live from North Pole to Moscow. Russia has 11 time zones and it's trilling to watch usually. But, thanks to today's technology, I can watch it later and as many times as I'd like to. Russian Dad Moroz, literally meaning Grandpa Frost travels with his granddaughter - Snegurochka (Snowmaidan), who helps him to distribute the presents to children. In there, gifts are only for children.

I just saw a little clip about how law enforcement organized and were providing security in and around the TS. That's a serious thing. I loved the view of the crowd from helicopters. I'd prefer to be in heli watching down to festivities, if I'll be ever be given a chance.

[I love looking at pictures of people of Premorye swimming in winter waters covered with thick ice. I can't even guess what kind of skin, psychical and psychological endurance is required to do that.

My mind every day goes to Donbass, although I don't write about it every day. How are those people surviving? Who are left in there and in which condition? How they met the New Year, which is their biggest holiday? It's when families get together, when Santa comes, when people visit each other and enjoy holiday food and festivities. It's traditionally most memorable and must be most painful, if none of those components exist.
